Critical Disability Studies Network: Dr Sandra Yellowhorse

The DBI and the Critical Disability Studies Research Network are proud to host Dr Sandra Yellowhorse here in Ōtepoti Dunedin. 

Dr Yellowhorse is a researcher in Critical Indigenous Disability Studies and draws on her lived experience as a Diné parent and is grounded in Diné (Navajo) storytelling which examines philosophies of disability from an Indigenous perspective.

Dr Yellowhorse gained her PhD in Indigenous Education and is a research fellow based at Te Puna Wānanga School of Māori and Indigenous Education at Waipapa Taumata Rau, The University of Auckland in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Dr Yellowhorse will be presenting her research in person, on Friday 17th April about Indigenous Inclusive Education for Indigenous schools in the US and Aotearoa New Zealand. She will also discuss the development of Indigenous Inclusive education as a form of worldbuilding rooted in the practice of right relations.
