Biography for Kelly Tikao
Kelly's educational and work experience include a Bachelor of Arts Majored in Maori, she is a Comprehensive Registered Nurse, a Producer, Presenter and Researcher for Television and Radio, and a Health Researcher.
Kelly has worked in and around the health field since graduating with her nursing diploma in 1991. She started at Auckland Hospital and then practiced community nursing for Maori Health Organisations for a number of years after that. Kelly often works in health and broadcasting which she recognizes as complimenting each other and sustaining herself and her whanau.
Kelly made the shift to Dunedin in 2004 from Auckland and has enjoyed the whanau orientated, creative, adventurous city. She doubled her family size in 2006 with the birth of twins who are now her work companions as she often works from home around their routines.
Kelly is currently working on the Maori component of the Peer Abuse Study and also coding observations on the Kimberley Project.
